Parakeets

Parakeets are easily tamed and trained, love to chatter, can learn to talk, are not loud or noisy like their larger cousins, and come in a variety of beautiful colors. They are a great beginner bird because of their ease of care and personality.

Parakeets have long, pointed tails, unlike the chunky lovebirds with which they are sometimes confused. Parakeets by nature are flock animals - they are not solitary by nature. The only bad thing about this is that if you haven't developed a relationship with your bird, it will care mostly about the other parakeet and not pay much attention to you.

The hanging parakeet sleeps upside down like a bat.
